  • Q. What exactly is a Wildflower Farm?
  • A. We actually plant, harvest and sell seed of over 100 species of wildflowers, herbs and garden variety flowers on our Farm. The cool part is that you can visit the Farm and see the flower fields in full color!
  •
  • Q. My wife loves flowers, I love beer, and our friend loves wine. Can we walk around with our wine and beer and see the flowers?
  • A. No problem. Enjoy!
  •
  • Q. I am a proud member of a Garden Club. Do I get a discount?
  • A. We love Garden Club members, and if you check out our prices, I am sure you will agree that our prices on seed, gifts etc. are as low as can be for everyone!
  •
  • Q. What's with all the cats?
  • A. Our cool cats are often referred to as the owners! We started several years ago with one stray and before long we had litters until we got everyone fixed, vaccinated and named. We also have taken in abused kitties but are at our limit with nine! They love the attention!
  •
  • Q. Can I bring my pet with me?
  • A. Absolutely, as long as you keep 'em on a leash or in a carrier.
  •
  • Q. My time is money; how long should I plan to stay?
  • A. At least two hours. There is a lot to do and see!
  •
  • Q. Are you growing beer in the Biergarten?
  • A. Almost, in addition to wine-tasting and sampling our specialty foods! A great place to kick back and enjoy a sandwich!
  •
  • Q. I'm handicapped; is your facility wheel chair accessible?
  • A. Absolutely. Very easy to maneuver throughout the entire facility!
  •
  • Q. Can I go into the flower fields for a photo?
  • A. You can go into most of our flower plots and fields in The Meadows area, but remember that most of our crops are in rows,
  • so be nice and don't step on or squash the plants and flowers.
  •
  • Q. If we get hungry, do you serve food?
  • A. Ribeye steaks, no, but we have sandwiches and snacks in the biergarten.
  •
  • Q. What does Wildseed Farms have to do with Lady Bird Johnson?
  • A. Lady Bird was a dear friend and frequent visitor! We really miss her.
  •
  • Q. Been there, done that, why go again?
  • A. You can't see it all in one trip; different flower fields will be in bloom at different times and gift items in our store change
  • frequently! We occasionally have special events on spring and summer weekends; check our website when making your plans!
  •
  • Q. Is that
  • A. Real Gillespie County peaches blended into soft-serve ice cream. Delicious!
  •
  • Q. What if I want to just walk around and look? Is there a charge? What's the catch?
  • A. No catch, seriously. Our motto is "Come for the Flowers, and Stay for the Atmosphere."
  •
  • Q. Can I buy your seed in bulk?
  • A. You bet! However, we are farmers and "bulk" to us means hundreds of pounds, not several.
  •
  • Q. Can I bring a large group for lunch?
  • A. Sure, just let us know by talking to John or Ryan.
  •
  • Q. Do you offer any discount on large purchases?
  • A. Our discount is 10% on all purchases over a thousand bucks that day!
  •
  • Q. Can I have my wedding there?
  • A. Not yet; we are working on it! But you are free to propose and say "I love you", anytime!
  •
  • Q. Do you have someone to help me to the car with my new pottery?
  • A. No problem, just ask for help at the checkout counter.
  •
  • Q. I'm a budding photographer. Can I take my own photos at the Farm?
  • A. Absolutely! No permission necessary!
  •
  • Q. I'm a smoker and can't smoke in the city anymore. Is it still permissable out in the country?
  • A. We have outside smoking areas available!
  •
  • Q. What is The Meadows?
  • A. The Meadows is the area that includes our fields, parks, trial plots and Butterfly Gardens.
  •
  • Q. When is the best time to visit?
  • A. Because we are a real live working Wildflower Farm, we have various flower fields in bloom throughout our growing season from March to November. April is the month to see most of the fields in full glory. We are open year-round and our store is always fully stocked with great gifts, pottery, ladies' fine apparel, live plants and specialty foods.
