Ladybird Dwarf Gold
Direct sow in early spring after the danger of frost has
passed. Plant in full sun, in well drained soils. NO NOT FERTILIZE. Rich,
fertile soils produce unusually tall, lanky plants with few blooms. Plants
become top heavy and fall over. Harvest bouquets in the early morning
hours. Select stems with flowers that have just opened. Remove leaves
below the water line. Cosmos has a vase life of 5-7 days. This species
does not mind being crowded. No need to thin the stand.
Seedlings are
not winter hardy.
