Tropicals are one of our specialties because they require lots of sun and moderate water, not to mention the beautiful selections of colors and sizes. You can find a large selection of Hibiscus, Palms, and Bougainvilleas in season (March-October). Tropicals are not cold tolerant, but can thrive in Southern coastal zones where the chance of freeze is slim. On the other hand, tropicals make great container plants because they can be brought in for the winter. Tropicals planted in containers can make a huge statement to any deck or patio!

Trees like the Desert Willow and Chitalpa are in stock year round, and other trees such as the Texas Redbud and Peach Trees can be purchased in season only (June-August). Desert Willow is a delicate, small, deciduous tree native to West Texas and the Edwards Plateau. Its long narrow leaves resemble those of willows (Salix spp.), although they are not related. Its flowers occur in showy clusters at the tips of the branches and on new wood, occurring from late spring to fall, depending on the rainfall. They are trumpet-shaped, sweetly fragrant, and range from light pink to light violet, rarely white or red. They are fast growers and are in high demand, so we grow them in our greenhouses and always have them in stock!
